SHIRLEY HUGHES
(nee MALLOW-MALINOWSKI)

With a heavy heart I announce the passing of my dear wife, Shirley, on January 7, 2023.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Sophie Mallow. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Jim, family and friends.
Shirley grew up in the North End and attended William Whyte and Isaac Newton schools. She started work at Kelekis then after graduating joined Monarch Life. When her mother took ill she left the work force to care for her. She returned to work at Eaton's for a number of years.
She gave of herself by volunteering at the C.N.I.B., St. Boniface Hospital, St. Alphonsus Church, Knights of Columbus bowling league. She was a long time member of the C.W.L. and St. Alphonsus Parish. Shirley had a special place in her heart for pets and was a long time supporter of the Winnipeg Humane Society.
Our thanks to the wonderful, loving and caring staff at Concordia Place.
On January 20, 2023 a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 315 Monroe Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Lunch to follow. Private interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
