EVANGELINE LOUISE JANUSKA
(KOSTYNYK)
It is with heavy hearts, and sadness the family announce the sudden passing of Angie at age 74.
Leaving to cherish her memory is her mother Anne , brothers Donald and Kelly (Theresa) , sister-in-law Marlene , niece Amanda (Mark), nephews Robert (Jennifer), Phillip (Natalie), Christopher and long-time friend John Sinclair. She was predeceased by her father Theodor and brother Lorne.
A beautiful heart and soul with a personality that would light up the room, Angie was humble and kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and forgiving of others. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. Angie loved her family and friends so much that she thought nothing of putting their needs before her own. An avid animal lover Angie would pick up and care for strays and other family members' pets.
Born to Theo and Anne Kostynyk (Kiansky) on August 18, 1948, Angie lived her early years in Vita, MB where she learned the value of hard work, patience, and tenacity. At age 12, the family moved to Winnipeg where Angie attended school at John Henderson and Miles MacDonald Collegiate. Her inquisitive mind and curiosity led her to study the Arts and Interior Design at the University of Manitoba and Library Sciences at the University of Michigan. She was also extremely resourceful and could fix just about anything from vehicles to electric and mechanical devices.
Angie's work as a teacher/librarian took her to communities in Winnipeg, Cranberry Portage, Norway House, Cross Lake and Fisher River where she enjoyed helping students of varying ages and abilities with learning. Midway through her career, Angie worked as the property manager for the family business, Gateside Gardens and the Fred Douglas Society.
In addition to her love of family and friends, Angie had many other loves: the family cottage at Falcon Lake, travelling abroad, family gatherings and events, the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers, rock 'n roll and country music, dancing, scrabble, and TV game shows.
