Offer Condolences or Memory MARION DEVLIN
(nee PEARSON)
August 5, 1929 - December 31, 2022
Born at the onset of the Great Depression to Swedish immigrant parents, Marion acquired a life-defining quality of meeting challenge with determination and perseverance, achieving prized accomplishment and reward in every endeavour. She succeeded highly at all she explored: gifted academian, avid reader, water-colour artist, photographer, pianist, and cook... she excelled at everything! Her acolades include: top student grades every year at Dryden High School in North West Ontario; honoured graduate of Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing (RN Grad 1952), Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology / Psychology from University of Winnipeg and at age 56 years a Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Manitoba. She enjoyed reading, travelling and lively conversation.
Her greatest joy and pride were her children, to whom she gave wisdom and passion: Shaun (Toronto), Maureen (Winnipeg) and our precious Sheila (passed 2003).
In her remembrance, as Marion and her kids wish - please read to a child.
Interment in Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON.

Mrs. Devlin was my very dear friend Sheila's Mother. I still remember her soft kind voice, and watching a Lady that read many books; played piano and was an educated Lady. Fort Frances, on Fourth Street. When I go home, always drive by the house and it has a special remembrance. Rest in Peace Mrs. Devlin. - Posted by: Mary Ann (Beck) King (Friend of Sheila, Maureen and Sean) on: Jan 28, 2023

Marion will be missed by her daughter-in-law of 32 years. We spent many a day on the porch looking at the lake and laughing over a glass of pinot grigio. Margot - Posted by: Margot Devlin (Daughter-in-law) on: Jan 25, 2023
