With the deepest regret, husband Jack and son David announce the passing of beloved wife and mother Elaine Sine on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Charleswood Care Centre, after a long series of illness.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, older sister Helen; brother Jack; sister-in-law Susan and brother-in-law John Albrechtson. Elaine was born in Southampton, Ontario on March 30, 1928. After high school and business college, she became a bank clerk in Kitchener, Ontario where she met and married Jack. To Jack and family... Please accept my condolences on the loss of Elaine. I knew her as a model with the Costume Museum's Historic Fashion Review and joined her as a model over several years. She was such a lovely person and so kind to a new model as I was in 1986 and for many years following. I succeeded Mrs. Edna Holland in becoming the Fashion Review coordinator for the Museum, and continue to do this work even now....many years later. I think of Elaine every Xmas especially since years ago she gave me a pretty Xmas stocking that she had made to hang as decoration at the fireplace...and it still comes out every year. Now I also volunteer every week at the Museum curatorial space looking after donations for the collection, so am still very involved. Elaine will be missed so much. We are thankful for her dedication to uis for so long. - Posted by: Margaret Mills (friend from the Costume Museum of Canada) on: Jan 28, 2023
