REINHOLD (ROY) BRIESE
September 30, 1934 - January 16, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Roy Briese, at East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home in Beausejour on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the age of 88.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Lance) Wadelius, and Cathy (Byron) Sault; his grandchildren: Michelle (Evan), Nicole (Jeff), Kyle, Riley and Jaclyn (Erik). He also leaves his great-granddaughters: Leona, Ellie, Hannah and Stella, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dad was predeceased by our mother Toody who he absolutely adored and missed dearly. They had 65 years of married life. It is great comfort to the family that Mom and Dad are together again.
Roy was a very positive person who believed in the love of family, the fellowship of friends and had a strong faith in God. He always told us to "take time for people" and his home was open to anyone. He loved to tell stories and make you laugh and he could easily engage anyone in a conversation. If someone was in need, he would be there to help. He always made time.
Dad, with Mom by his side, built their many homes and camps together. They travelled throughout North America and Europe. Roy was very proud that they drove across Canada to all the provinces, the Yukon, NWT and Labrador. Dad loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature. This love moved him into a long career with Manitoba Natural Resources. Dad was a passionate antique collector, a musician who led many sing-alongs and a friend to all who knew him. Above all, family gatherings were the most important to him.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave., Beausejour, MB.
