DAVID WHALLEY
July 17, 1954 - January 22, 2023

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Dave Whalley announce his sudden passing on January 22, 2023.
Dave is survived by his loving partner of 31 years, Val, his sisters, Vicki (Ron) and Wendy, his niece Lindsay, his nephew Brent (Rochelle), and his stepson Dave. He was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Jim.
Dave loved the cottage life. He enjoyed their family cottage in Victoria Beach for 50 years, and their cottage in the Grand Beach area for 18 years. He enjoyed feeding the local birds, squirrels, and the occasional bear. Dave worked at Baker Manufacturing for 40 years and thoroughly enjoyed retirement for three years.
Dave will be deeply missed, and he will be forever in our hearts. He will be thought of often, we miss you, Dave!
We are respecting his final wish not to have a funeral service.

  • My sincere condolences to David's family. Many of my wonderful memories of childhood summers and winter weekends at Victoria Beach involve times spent with David: bike excursions and snowmobile treks, superhero play-fighting on the beach, building golf ball runs down the banks, working together at the Club House, or just hanging out reading (and drawing our own) comics or doing jigsaw puzzles at Whalleyville (Population 5). David was a good and decent person, a loyal friend who made a strong and positive impact on my life. I'm very grateful to have known him. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: J.D. • So very sorry to hear about Dave's passing. My sincere condolences to Val and all the Whalley family. Many, many happy memories at VB growing up and playing football at King Edward beach. So glad to hear that he retired when he said he was and had some years down at his cottage. Will always be thinking of those happy days and Dave is always a big part of those memories!
