ANNE MARIE KAHLER
(nee DERLAGO)

Anne passed away quietly and peacefully on January 24, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born on April 24, 1929 in Rossburn, MB to William and Mary Derlago.
Left to remember her are her four children: Bruce (Connie), Randy (Jane), Perry (Sherry), Cindy (Doug); eight grandchildren: Brendon, Graham, Michael (Bruce and Connie), Lori (Randy and Jane), Kahleigh, Craig(Cindy and Doug), and Zachary and Maxwell (Perry and Sherry); great-grandchildren are Elliot and Amelia, living in The Pas with parents, Graham and Jacqueline. Anne is also survived by her sister Sonia and brother Ivan (Shirley), and many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Peter of 32 years, grandson John Kahler and 13 brothers and sisters (Tony, Nettie, Olga, Sylvia, Helene, Mike, Clement, Barry, Lawrence, Angus, Alec, Ted and Phyllis).
Anne worked hard all her life, raising her family, supporting the family construction business, actively involved with many church and community groups such as the Catholic Women's League (50 years), Parish Council president, teaching catechism (14 years), and as a leader of Girl Guides and Brownies, in addition to her near full time employment.
Born on the farm, Anne loved her vegetable and flower gardening and spent a large part of her leisure hours in such activities. She also loved to get together with her family members, especially if it gave her an opportunity to host meals which allowed her to show off her tremendous cooking skills.
Anne was a strong believer in the Catholic church and felt that her faith was her greatest strength. She was supportive to all her children and grandchildren, and always provided encouragement to get them to pursue their dreams.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Home for their caring attitude and support they provided throughout her years.
A funeral liturgy in remembrance of Anne's life will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg. This will be followed by a family attended interment at All Saints Cemetery, and then continue by a reception for all starting at noon at the Cropo facility.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Holy Family Personal Care Home.

  • I remember how kind and gentle your mom was , when we were young children and would go to the Kahler house , she always had cookies and kind words for us. The days she worked at Rae and Jerry’s before a bomber game we would go for a bite to eat and there she was with her big smile ready to serve us and cheer on the bombers. May you rest in peace , deepest condolences to you Cindy , Perry , Bruce , and Randy , and the entire family - Posted by: Linda McMurtry (Friend) on: Jan 28, 2023
