DAVID KENNETH ANDRECHUK
February 9, 1938 – January 29, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandpa on January 29, 2023, with his family by his side, at the Grace Hospital.
He leaves to mourn his wife Pat, of 59 years, son David (Janine), daughter Tricia (Shayne), grandchildren, Kelsey, Hailey, Rhianna and his lifelong friend Myron Manko. Dave was predeceased by his mother Pauline.
Following completion of the drafting program at Tec-Voc high school Dave began his career at Westeel Rosco where he would work for the next 25 years. His career took him and his family to Saskatoon for five years and then back to Winnipeg. In 1976 Dave and Pat moved to Anola where they raised their children on a hobby farm. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1991 where he worked at Seven Oaks Hospital until his retirement.
Dave had many passions including woodworking where he spent many hours in his workshop building furniture and gifts for his family and friends. When he wasn't woodworking Dave could be found in his vegetable garden where he always found different ways to grow the best tomatoes and zucchinis each year. Dad was also a great cook whether in the kitchen or on the BBQ. During family visits and dinners Dave loved telling stories; his knowledge of world history was extensive and self taught. Dave loved sharing his wisdom and experience and was always available to lend a helping hand to his family and friends.
Cremation has already taken place, a small family gathering will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I knew Tricia from Springfield and how she loved her parents. Her dad, father, has moved on to another existence as have others we all loved. Know this, "Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, it simply changes state, and will forever exist." Love to you and your family Tricia.
