OLHA FRANCES CURTIS
(PAULIUK)

September 16, 1929 - January 12, 2023

Olha (Ollie) Frances Curtis passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023, at the Grace Hospice. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Donald (Joy), Cathy (Gary), Graham (Heather) and Brian (Pamela); along with nine grandchildren, Jillian (Terry), Tyler, Jamie (Brendin), Kira (Matt), Naomi, Wojo, Liam, Noah and Joshua; and seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Adley, Myka, Logan, Dea, Brinley and Harlynn. She was predeceased by her husband Leigh (Bud) Curtis; her parents, Katherine and William Pauliuk; her sisters, Mary and Helen; her brother Bill, and her granddaughter Brooke.
Ollie was born in Cypress River and grew up in the Goodlands District attending Lennox School. When she moved to Winnipeg, she resided in a rooming house now known as Dalnavert and conveyed many stories of making lifelong friends while living there. She worked at the T. Eaton Company where she met her husband, Bud. They took many train trips on the Midnight Special to Grand Beach and in winter loved to curl and ski. They built their first cottage at McKenzie Beach, West Hawk Lake and later moved across the lake to Moonlight Bay. Ollie loved the cottage and spent time there with her family and friends from the time the snow melted until it snowed again. She had the most beautiful flower gardens, she loved to go for long walks venturing deep into the bush blueberry picking with her grandkids in tow. She loved playing cards in the evenings and was known for her sharp mind and competitive spirit.
Ollie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Nana. She loved watching and hearing all about her children and grandchildren's many activities. She lived a full and wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
The family would like to thank all doctors, nurses, caregivers and staff at the Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence, the Grace Hospital, and the Grace Hospice for their compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
