Jim is survived by his wife Mary, of 48 years, Jim was not only my husband he was also my best friend and soul mate.
Jim was predeceased by both parents. Michael and Anne, his siblings, Michael (Mick), Gordon, Ernie and sister Dorothy, parents-in-law, Joseph Barnard and Maude Barnard.
Jim leaves to mourn his passing wife Mary, sons, Richard (Rick) / Jen Allan of Langley, BC, Stephen / Tina Tauber, Martin Tauber of Winnipeg and our chosen daughter Maryanna Monkman of Selkirk, five grandchildren: Jamie-Renelle Simundson (Peggy-Sue), Kennedy Tauber, Renae Tauber all of Winnipeg, Brandon Allan and Brittani Scholten (Darryl) of Langley, BC, one great- grandson Braxton Richardson. A celebration of Jim's life is going to be held in Acapulco on February 21 and with another celebration of his life at the family farm in September (his birthday weekend).
On behalf of my family I would like to thank everyone near and far who have reached out to us with messages, phone calls, cards and visits - Jim would have been so touched by the outpouring of support.
Cremation has already taken place in Acapulco, Mexico and as Jim requested no formal funeral will be held. Interment of Jim's remains will take place at the family plot in Winnipeg at a later date.
