JANET DARLENE STORY
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Janet on January 27, 2023.
Jan was predeceased by her beloved husband Les, parents, Verna and Harry Wasylyshen, brothers, Walter, Tony, John (twin), and sister Ann. Survived by her two loving sons, Dustin (Maureen) of Howden, MB, Jeritt of Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren, Griffin and Grace, sisters, Adeline (Ted) and Jean of Winnipeg, MB; as well as Les's family, numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was born in Dauphin, MB in 1946. She was raised in the town of Grandview by her parents along with her six siblings. She moved to Winnipeg in 1965 with Les, her teenage sweetheart, and they later married in 1968 (in Grandview). Jan had a love for her family and was always making sure you had more than enough to eat, including the granddogs. You could often find her outside, gardening, caring for her yard, and keeping her driveway clear of snow. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, doing puzzles and crafts and following many sports on TV, tennis, curling, hockey and football to name a few. She especially loved playing games and spending time with her grandkids along with meeting at her favourite Asian buffet restaurant to celebrate family birthdays.
To honour her wishes a small funeral service with immediate family will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home where she will be laid to rest next to Les.
Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.

I am reading of Janet’s passing from my home in Mexico and feel very sad for everyone. Janet and I had many adventures together…especially “ figure skating” and playing “ hooky” from time to time. Those were such fun days with a “ Fun Friend!” My condolences to all of the Families. Sincerely, Louise Shewfelt (Guillas) - Posted by: Louise Shewfelt( Guillas) (Childhood Friend..
