DAVID MACDONALD

Passed away with his family by his side at his residence, after a brief but fierce battle with cancer, on February 8, 2023 at the age of 85.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lise, daughter Nancy (Patrick), son John (Laura), brother Anthony (Vivian) and various nieces and nephews.
Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, his family promptly moved to balmy climes of Winnipeg, Manitoba where he spent most of his childhood. After graduating with an Engineering degree from Montana State University, he returned to his frozen homeland where he met and pursued the love of his life Lise. While working as a project planning engineer for Acres International out of the Winnipeg, Montreal, and Niagara Falls offices, David traveled extensively to various countries around the world including Pakistan, China, and Lesotho. As an Engineer by trade and training, David also loved woodworking in his small basement woodshop, which culminated in the building of his sailboat the Octade. He sailed the boat out of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Sailing Club until she was hauled to Lake Minaki for proper summer usage.
Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Monday February 13, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of David's life will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with inurnment to follow at Stamford Green Heritage Columbarium.
