ROY STANLEY LIGHT

Roy passed peacefully in the early hours of February 3, 2022 with family by his side.
Predeceased by loving wife Joyce (2013) he will be missed by his 2 daughters, Kim (Bruce) and Keri (Geoff); his four grands, Aynsley (Stephen), Andrea (Branden), Bryn (Heather), Cameron (Caroline) and his ten Greats, Hayden, Jace, Hudson, Rhys, Shea, Josie, Sloane, Freya, Lennon and Geoffrey and #11 coming in March!
Roy enjoyed a 39 year career with TCA/Air Canada, retiring in the early 90s. This left lots of time for he and Joyce to enjoy their golden years, curling, golfing and travelling the globe on so many adventures. Many Caribbean holidays were shared with their Air Canada group providing years of entertainment, regaling their escapades. Cruises, an extended stay in Australia and New Zealand and the Big One in Roy's eyes, the Safari in Kenya, were all part of their travelogue!
In 2010, Roy and Joyce moved to the Seine River Retirement Residence, making many new friends.
Their little piece of Heaven was 'The Lighthouse' on 7th at Victoria Beach. So many happy times were had at the cottage, but it was truly the Grands, who benefited the most. Ayns, Andie, Bryn and Cam have wonderful memories of summers spent with Papa and Nanny, swimming, biking, bakery runs and just being beach bums. This legacy will carry on for generations to come.
As per Roy's wishes, no service will be held. A man of few words, his only request was a family party. So, please raise a glass to the best bartender and host.

Rest easy Papa. We love you xoxo

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • So sorry to hear of the passing of Roy. When I got laid off from Air Canada in Winnipeg and accepted a job as a Customs Clerk in Vancouver, Roy helped out so much before I left Winnipeg and many times after, when I would call him to help me out with something. Have very many fond memories of our old Air Canada Stores Western Region Golf tourneys we had every year. He will be sadly missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to his many family and friends - Posted by: Dennis Tarr (Friend) on: Feb 23, 2023
