ELEANOR JACQUELINE (JACKIE) SNEESBY
February 12, 1943 – January 17, 2023

Jackie passed away after a brief struggle and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her. Jackie is survived by her husband Gerry; sons Kevin (Terri) and Bryce (Paige); granddaughters Lauren and Danielle; and siblings Kerry, James and Susan.
Jackie lived life to the fullest and was able to travel the world, as she loved to do, with Gerry, her boys and friends. Jackie loved and was proud of her work in the travel industry, especially at Air Canada, where she excelled and made significant contributions.
Jackie had many friends that she met over the years, growing up in St. James, raising a family in River Heights, involved in politics at all levels, from the Winter Club and through her many volunteer activities. Jackie volunteered for decades and sat on the boards of many organizations including the Cancer Society, Art Gallery, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Liberal Party, Manitoba Theatrefor Young People and Women's Employment Counseling Service.
Whether acting as a school board trustee, a friend or a friendly ear, Jackie helped others, lent a helping hand and an opinion.
The Celebration of Jackie's Life will be held at the Winnipeg Winter Club, 200 River Avenue, Winnipeg on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a time of reflection at 2:30 p.m.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Jackie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 185 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Peg and I are very sorry for your loss. Among other things we remember many enjoyable evenings at the Winter Club playing mixed badminton and socializing in the "Sportsman Lounge" afterwards. Great fun, lots of laughs. Blessings on you Gerry and Kevin and Bryce and families. - Posted by: Robert Tollefson (friend) on: Feb 23, 2023

  • Jackie was our Air Canada Vacations rep for many years. She became a personal friend as well. She always did her best to help us both professionally and personally. Her enthusiasm and knowledge was always appreciated. She was a force to be reckoned with. She will be missed by so many. - Posted by: Dorothy Franklin (work college ) on: Feb 19, 2023

  • I have known Jackie for so many years, that it’s even hard to say when we met. She was still with Air Canada and I had my agency. She was one of those wonderful people that try to help everyone anytime she could. It breaks my heart now to know she is gone and will never be able to hear the stories and her wonderful laughter. I’m so glad I had a chance to see her this summer visiting Winnipeg and spending some times with her and the family. There are no words to express the sorrow and the pain. My deepest condolences to the family. Jackie, darling. Hope you are climbing the stairways to heaven, will miss you like crazy and love you forever - Posted by: Rimna Vizhgorodsky (Long time Friend ) on: Feb 18, 2023
