CALVIN ARTHUR SCHADE
February 8, 1933 - February 17, 2023
Having just made it to 90, Calvin (Cal) passed peacefully with family by his side.
Cal will be dearly missed by his sons, Brian (Melanie) and David (Eileen), and his three cherished grandsons, Jeffrey, William, and Timothy. Cal was predeceased by his wife Dianne; son Gordon; and grandson Evan.
Dad was a kind man, comfortable in his own company and always generously offered his time and experience to family and friends. If he had to sit then it would be to read or play cards.
Cal was always busy. He worked at Revenue Canada Taxation for over 30 years, retired at 55, and started his own accounting practice where he had fun helping his clients, especially with their tax problems "from the other side". Dad also enjoyed many hobbies and helping his family with all sorts of projects. He was always ready to go - if something had to be done, it needed to be done now and it needed to be done right. He enjoyed woodworking, for example, and could point out every flaw in his projects that none of us could see.
Our family is grateful for and thanks several individuals at Maples Personal Care Home, especially on Pine Unit, who cared for and developed a relationship with our Dad.
Cal did not want a service. Interment and a small family gathering will be held in Winnipeg at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a good cause of your choice.

Cal was a good friend of ours, we got to know him through our business as he did our income tax, this turned into a friendship through the years, when we got together with him and Diane there was always lots of laughs and stories to be told, he always had a twinkle in his eyes and loved ribs, especially when we did them over a fire at our place on the lakefront. Our condolences to the family, you have lost a great person. - Posted by: Pat and Irene Blaney (Friends) on: Feb 25, 2023
