FLORENCE THERESA REBECK
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence Rebeck on February 18, 2023, at 91 years of age.
Florence leaves to mourn her two sons, Ronald and Randall (Valerie), grandsons, Jordan (Mariane) and Ryan (Amber), sister-in-law Christine (Donald) Rairie, brother-in-law Gary (Mary) Rebeck and nieces, Lori (Dave), Renee (Scott), Nicole and their families.
Born June 8, 1931, the only child of Michael and Josephine Zorich, Florence had a happy childhood growing up in Cooks Creek, MB. She enjoyed participating in sports, especially baseball. In her later years, she enjoyed watching curling.
On July 7, 1951 Florence married Philip Rebeck and they were married 63 years until Phil's passing in 2014. Florence was well known in the East St. Paul community for being a hard worker. As a young mother she helped run the family restaurant in Bird's Hill, MB and enjoyed a lifelong love of cooking. Florence was also of great assistance to her husband when he started a trucking business. Florence loved her garden, always being generous in sharing its produce with others. She also loved her pets: there were always a few cats or a dog around and she cared for them with kindness. We'll miss her great sense of humour, her signature "chuckle" and her positive view of life, despite difficulties.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Florence had a deep respect for the Bible and utmost faith in God's promise of a future resurrection to a paradise earth, where pain, suffering and death will be a thing of the past (Revelation 21:4).
According to her wishes, no memorial service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Thank you to the 3rd floor staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their care, compassion and respect of her dignity.
