PETER (PJ) JENSEN
May 31, 1972 - February 17, 2023

The Man, The Legend, Peter Jensen (PJ) Jensen of Canmore, AB suddenly passed away at his home on February 17, 2023 from complications due to an enlarged heart.
He leaves to mourn his mother Naomi Jensen, sister Naomi (Gilles), brother Chris (Carol) and his beloved dog and soulmate Stanley. He is predeceased by his father Doug Jensen.
Peter was born in Winnipeg and lived here until he was 18 years old. He attended Windsor Park Collegiate graduating in 1990. After graduating, he took a leap of faith and moved away with his high school buddies to Banff, AB. This would turn out to be one of the best decisions of his life, and he would never look back. There he continued his passion for skiing, and snowboarding, later teaching his tremendous skills to the locals and people from all over the world at Sunshine Village Resort in Banff, AB. Being a ski bum wasn't going to pay the bills, so he went searching for a legitimate full time job. He walked through the doors at Monod's Sports in Banff, AB where they realized they had a true gem and was hired on the spot. Monod's was his second home where the owners and staff loved him clearly and were like family to him working there for 32 years. He became a sales manager as well as a hands on skilled boot fitter. No one had the ability to dial in a proper fitting pair of ski boots than PJ. We all know PJ had a talent for teaching skiing and snowboarding, but that was not all he was good at. He was also top notch at fishing, hiking, hunting, and taxidermy, truly a man of many talents. Those skills were shared with many of his closest and dearest friends, too many to name.
Although PJ lived a short life, it was a life most of us could only dream of. He was truly able to live his dreams to the fullest. We are going to miss him so much, but he would want us to move on. Our memories of him will be treasured forever.
A special thank you to PJ's tenants, local firefighters, and first responders. The family would also like to thank everyone from Canmore and Banff for their support. PJ had such good friends in these communities; their support has been truly overwhelming.
Donation can be made in PJ's name to Bow Valley SPCA. There will be a Celebration of Life in Canmore, AB.
