ISABEL MOSTOWY
(SCHOLZ, BUSS)

September, 1938 – March, 2023

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, Isabel Mostowy. Mom left us on March 1, 2023, at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home.
Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Dorothy (Winston), David (Darlene) and Karen; grandchildren, Connie (Craig), Reena (Brent), Gordon (Sherry), Candice (Ryan), Amanda (Paul), Andrew and Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Preston, Bennett, Allie, Rory, Tatum, Sora, and Julianna; sister Cora (Spotty); sisters-in-law, Nettie and Jean; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and Darlene's family.
Mom was reunited in Heaven with her parents, Martin and Mary Scholz; husband Gordon Buss; children, Murray and Crystal; siblings, Martin, Margaret, May, Norman, Helen, Rose, and Gordon; and many other extended family members and friends.
Mom was born in Golden Bay, Manitoba. She married the love of her life, Gordon, and in the early years they raised the family on the Buss homestead land. When dad passed away in 1973 mom had to go to work to raise the family. She sold the farm and moved to Beausejour to make life a little easier for the family. She was devastated and heartbroken when her youngest son was killed in a car accident at the age of 15 and her youngest daughter passed away from cancer at the age of 16. Mom always said she had two children in heaven with their dad but still needed to be a mother for the ones left on earth. Mom was always there for us through the good times and bad. She was feisty, fun, loving and giving to all she knew. She is now at peace joining her beloved husband and children in heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for caring for mom for the last six years. A big thank you to nurse Lindsay for always being there for mom.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave., Beausejour, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Karen, my mom, Tonie Windsor, shared her first room at Tuxedo with your mom. Together they watched all the shows on the W network, even as my mom's hearing worsened. She always appreciated your mom's friendship, and we appreciated that my extrovert mother had someone to talk with. - Posted by: Joanne Brown (Friend) on: Mar 06, 2023

  • Karen and family. My condolences on the loss of your mom. Her and I became good friends when she lived at the villa. She would never miss one of the ice cream parties I had. Her smile was absolutely beautiful. Take care of yourself. Val Kostelnick former recreation worker at the villa. - Posted by: Val Kostelnick (Friend ) on: Mar 04, 2023
