DAVID GRANT BAILEY
David Bailey, age 56, son of Diana and the late Fred Bailey, died peacefully, February 28, 2023, after a challenging battle with cancer.
Dave grew up on Semple Avenue and attended West Kildonan Collegiate and Red River College (Systems Analyst 4). He was a dedicated MTS (Bell) employee with 37 years of service. Dave continued working at home throughout his illness, enjoying the connection with his colleagues and the support they provided him on his journey. Dave was the "go to guy" for any and all questions. In his unit at MTS, "all roads led to Dave." You Rule.
Summer holidays were the highlight of his year. As a young lad, he attended a variety of summer camps. His love for fishing extended into adult years when he enjoyed time at Long Lake with his Dad Fred, uncle Leslie Carlson, and godfather Clive Derham. Hunting was another Father and Son event. David loved animals and will be missed by Boots, his feline companion.
Dave is also mourned by Diana's partner, Edward Richliwski; aunts, Shirley, Violet; uncles, Floyd, George, Norman and Camille, and numerous cousins.
Dave was predeceased by his uncles, Jim and Leslie; and aunts, Joyce and Eileen.
Your life was a blessing,
your memory a treasure.
Donations to Darcy's Arc Animal Rescue would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.

Diana and Family my condolences on your loss. Dave was one of the most helpful and knowledgeable person to work with. No matter how busy he was he always had time to help me. I cant tell you how many times - that's a Dave Bailey question was said - as no one has or had the knowledge that he had. I will always be grateful for everything he taught me. - Posted by: Carmen Azevedo (Co-Worker) on: Mar 04, 2023

Diana, please accept my most sincere condolences. I knew Dave when he first came to MTS. He was a sponge for knowledge. Always learning. We had so much fun with him when he came to work with "us girls" in Estimates. We all knew he was destined for bigger things and that was when he became our "go to guy". I came to rely on his vast knowledge of all things computer and I must admit he made my life there so much better. Dave never seemed to know when he would be the object of a trick or joke from some of us, but, I think, he loved every minute of it. He was very dear to me and I thought of him even after I retired. I am so sorry for your loss. Irene Dare - Posted by: Irene Dare (Co-worker) on: Mar 04, 2023

Diana and Family; my condolences on the loss of Dave. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to have worked with him on many projects over the years. He was an outstanding Systems Analyst and more important, an amazing person. Dave and I were from the same hood (West Kildonan) and shared many common friends. I will miss him so much. May your love and good memories of Dave help ease the pain of his loss. - Posted by: Sheri Banville (MTS Family) on: Mar 04, 2023
