AUDREY ELIZABETH WILSON
(GOOD)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Elizabeth Wilson (née Good) on January 25, 2023, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 90.
Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, to Robert and Elizabeth Good, Audrey was the baby of her family. After she married Eric Wilson, the couple immigrated with their three young children to Thompson, Manitoba in 1967.
From her work in a blood transfusion clinic to later positions as a teacher's aide and librarian, Audrey gravitated toward helping roles. She had an instinctive gift for teaching young people, defined by boundless patience and an easy smile on the most difficult days-skills she also employed as a thoughtful mother and grandmother.
Whatever came her way, Audrey intentionally maintained the steady, serene presence and gentle good humour that always made those around her feel safe and welcome. Despite her keen wit and knack for noticing details others might miss, she rarely had a cross word for anyone. She formed enduring friendships where she went: as a child in the UK, a new arrival to Canada, and right up to Winnipeg's Wildwood golf and badminton clubs and Canoe Club retirement home.
Audrey loved to travel all over the world with Eric, but she also found contentment is simple joys. A lifelong daily reader, she often devoured a book in one sitting. Her fondness for music was such that she could often be heard humming or singing, quietly, unconsciously, as she went about her day.
Above all else, Audrey valued sincerity and kindness. These traits marked her life and the lives of those who loved her, and they live now in our memories.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Eric. She is survived by her children, Lynne (Don), Alan (Shirley), and John (Melanie); and grandchildren, Erin, Evan, and Matthew.
We would like to extend our thanks to the medical team of home care aides, nurses and doctors at unit 5B at the St. Boniface Hospital for their professionalism and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Audrey's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
A celebration of Audrey's life will be held on March 18, at 2:00 p.m., at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
