ROSE LISABETH THORVALDSON
1956 - 2023

It is with sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Rose Lisabeth on February 27, 2023 at the age of 66 years.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her husband Herman; son Jared (Brooke) Longstaffe and her grandchildren, Jessica and Hunter; brothers, Charles MacQueen and Carter Iwaniw; sister Nancy Rushak; aunt Barbara Mair; Herman's children/grandchildren, Jocelyn Dunstan (Greg), Karen Banfield, Alexandra and Mackenzie Banfield, along with many extended family members.
Predeceased by her parents, William (Bill) MacQueen and Joan Richards; and grandmother ("Nana") Edith Allen.
While born in Montreal, Rose was raised under the loving and thoughtful care of her Nana here in Winnipeg. She graduated Grade 12 from St. James Collegiate as an honour student.
Rose was kind-hearted with a quick wit and lovely sense of humour. She was a proud and inquisitive woman – always looking for the goodness in people.
She had great affection for animals, in particular her treasured cat "Kitty". She loved music and enjoyed watching many sports programs – her favourites being curling and football. Staying up on current events was of great interest to her.
Rose enjoyed spending much time up at the cottage in Gimli and had great fondness for the warm and welcoming community.
A family interment and memorial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
