ANTHONY KACPERSKI
September 17, 1952 - February 22, 2023

With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle and family to everyone he met. During the early morning hours of Monday, February 22, 2023, in his 70th year, at Selkirk Regional Centre, after battling a number of health issues, he left peacefully in his sleep. He will be greatly missed.
Tony was born at Kingsmill Hospital in Sutton Ashfield, Nottingham, England and travelled afar as in infant to Bissett, Manitoba where he was raised and schooled.
He was always involved with the community events volunteering to help out and had a great passion for curling. He played for many years and later worked ice making crews.
Tony relocated to Selkirk, Manitoba in 2003 and there also became well known, involved with Friendship Centre, East Selkirk Fire Department and volunteering at the Safeway Select Bonspiel.
Tony's hugs were legendary and the aftermath could be felt for sometime later.
Tony was predeceased by his father Walter, mother Elsie and nephew Travis. He is survived by brother Vince, nephews, James and Daniel, niece Paige; brother Ian (Gale), nephews, Coyle and Cohan; brother Rick (Angie), nieces, Robyn and Tracy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.
Service to follow.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Tony was my first student. I met him when I arrived in Bissett in September 1969. He was at the school when I arrived on the Labour Day Monday. Over the years we kept in touch. He was a regular at the Cranberry Portage bonspiel. He was always a welcome guest in our home. Tony had a definite opinion on many subjects' especially politics. I appreciated his love of life and people in general. My best to the brothers who I know cared for their older brother. RIP Tony. - Posted by: Dan Reagan (friend) on: Mar 18, 2023
