WILLIAM KOZUB
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William Theodore Kozub on March 8, 2023, at age 88. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elma, and children: Charisse (Morris) Dwayne (Marion) Grant (Sheryl). eight dear grandchildren, Jennifer (Garrett) Johnson; Tyler (Cassie) Stadnek; Tara (Brian) Barkman; Regan (Kirstin) Kozub; Terrance (Crystal) Kozub; Lauren (David) Egesz; Drew (Allie) Kozub; Carly (Chad) Mitchell. 20 great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Austin, Alysse; Rebecca, Samantha, Dalton; Ty, Brock, Luca; William, Alexandria, Colton, Kyle, Ainsley; Maja, Abigail; Inga; Porter; Casimir, Thorin. Brothers, Jerald (Shirley) Ronald (Lorraine) Reg (Karen) sister-in-law Joan, and brother-in-law Wes Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents Ted and Anne, brother Wilfred, twin infant siblings, Eileen, and Larry. Elma's parents and brother in laws, Richard, and Hugh.
William was born February 26, 1935, the eldest of five brothers. William and Elma met in 1955, set up on a blind date by close friends. They were married November 26 of that same year. William's first jobs were freighting up north and then road construction. He and Elma ran a cow-calf operation for many years, working together in partnership to build a life and raise a family. William spent decades working in construction, primarily as a grader operator. He was known as the "grader operator who always wore a cowboy hat." He loved being an operator. He worked for many different outfits through the years, operating until his 80th year. He was a dedicated worker and possessed a quick wit!
In later years, William and Elma enjoyed travelling and spent many happy years in Mission, Texas, where they enjoyed the fellowship of friends, old and new, music and dancing. Shuffleboard competitions were especially memorable!
William's dedication to his family is reflected in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. William's storytelling, sense of humour, Kozub smile, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed.
We will celebrate his life this summer with a gathering at Hnausa Cemetery for an internment and spend the day exchanging "Papa" stories. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite cause or charity.

Always enjoyed our annual business tax preparation meetings where his good cheer, skillful and witty repartee and funny life anecdotes made our associations a pleasant event. Bill exemplified the old school traditions of a firm handshake and giving his word as his bond in our business dealings. He and Elma made a fine couple and we are thankful to have known them both. A life's work well done. - Posted by: Kris and Colleen Baldwin (Business accountant and friend) on: Mar 11, 2023
