KENNETH W. WALKER
July 6, 1943 - March 9, 2023
It is with profound sadness that the family of Kenneth W. Walker announces his peaceful passing on March 9 at the age of 79, surrounded by his wife Marjorie and Monsignor Maurice Comeault.
He leaves behind his loving wife Marjorie, four children, Debbie Dawson (Scott), Kenny Walker, Laura Sue Jones, and Danny Walker (Tracy), two brothers, Daniel Walker (Liz) and Brent Walker (Glenora) and sister in-law Wendy Walker (Ken Pitman), eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog Frisky. Ken was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Howe Walker, brother Rick Walker and parents, Leonard Gilbert and Anges Taylor Walker.
His grandson Jeffrey described Ken as a charismatic presence that would fill a room with funny stories of his childhood. From a young age Ken was adventurous, daring and tried everything from singing to multiple sports and hitchhiking across Canada as a teenager hopping on trains to British Columbia being his favourite spot for adventure. A born salesman who could soft sell you whatever you needed or just thought you want it. Convinced his dad they needed a cottage at West Hawk Lake so he could spend his summers there and worked at a local theatre. A variety of jobs including his own business led him to D Ackland and Sons Industry, from making whippet hoses to top management, when a head hunter caught his attention and asked Ken to join Manitoba Bobcat Company. In Ken's words " Best Job ever", made some wonderful friends and because of his high sales volume won great international trips, England,Germany and USA. As the years passed he played senior hockey and decided to try golf which he loved, right along with playing the guitar around the campfire at his cottage. Upon retirement, golfing in Mesa, AZ all winter was the icing on his life.
