FRANK (FRANZ) PAULS
November 13, 1926 - March 11, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Pauls. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bethania Mennonite PCH on March 11, 2023 at the age of 96 years old.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Karen), Gary (Barb); daughter Sandi Hrem (Blaine); sisters Melitta and Hella. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Wade (Elyse), Jared (Stacie), Erika (Brittany), Trevor (Alex), Jazlyn and Kristen, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Isaak and Aganetta (Lehn); sister Anna, and brother-in-law Jacob.
Frank was born in Einlage, Ukraine on November 13, 1926. Frank was only 10 years old when the Russians invaded and took his father from their home and was never seen again. Frank and his mother and sisters came to Germany in 1943. At 16 years old he served in the German army serving on the front lines until the war ended in 1945.
In 1948 Dad immigrated to Canada where he did odd construction jobs and met Hildegard in 1951. On September 25, 1954 Frank and Hildegard were married. They had three children, Jim, Gary, and Sandi.
Frank was the best provider for his family working tirelessly from early morning to late in the evening. He lived for his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a humble, kind, humorous and generous man to the end. His baby blue eyes and smile will be missed by everyone he touched. We will forever love and miss our Vater, Opa, Bruder and Onkel deeply.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Bethania Mennonite PCH for all of their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, with a viewing at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Erik Parker officiating. Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery following the service and reception.

My condolences to you and your family in the passing of your father. He did reach a ripe old age. I remember 1948 when Frank arrived at our home in Saskatchewan from Germany. It was so good to learn another cousin. Frank had so much to visit with my mother, Katharina (Lehn) Janzen because she wanted to learn what happened after my parents left Russia in 1923. We enjoyed Frank, his fun loving approach to life and his thankfulness for a new life in a new country. May God comfort you during this time of grieving.
