LYNNE REABURN SJOBLOM
(WILLIAMS)
October 25, 1947 - March 20, 2023

With sadness, love, and gratitude, the family of Lynne Sjoblom announces her passing on March 20, 2023, the first day of spring, at the age of 75 after a long illness.
Lynne is survived by her three children, Chris Sjoblom, Jenine Sjoblom, and Colleen (Todd) Cutts and her three grandchildren, Aidan, Sadie, and Jillian, whom she adored. Lynne was the second oldest child of five close knit siblings, and she is survived by her sisters, Terry, Laurie (Bob), Susan (Ken), and her brother Scott (Sheryl). She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Richard (Merle), and many nieces and nephews. Lynne was predeceased by her husband Ron, of 45 years, and by her parents, James Williams and Doreen Williams.
Lynne was born in Moncton, NB and soon after the family moved to Vancouver, BC where Lynne grew up enjoying the mountains, a bit of curling and dancing, and being in a large family of five children. Lynne was particularly close with her older sister Terry, and in her early 20s Lynne moved to Winnipeg, MB in the footsteps of her sister. Soon after, Lynne met her husband, Ron, a long-time member of the Charleswood community where they remained and raised their family. Lynne was a loving and protective mother of her three children and would be quick to sacrifice her own needs for those of her family. Those who knew Lynne consistently described her in high regard, as an elegant and kind woman. Lynne was extremely humble and would often scoff when others commented on her beauty.
Lynne supported the family business, Neil and Watt Service, for many years with her husband and spent many Friday nights at the Charleswood Curling Club watching her husband curl while socializing with friends. Lynne made special friendships and had fond memories of her time with her dear late friend Pat, and greatly appreciated the ongoing friendship and support of long-time friends Dawn and Howard and was godmother to their son Jarrett. Lynne enjoyed gardening, good food, and greatly enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. Lynne was disappointed when her illness made it too difficult for her to help care give to her grandchildren as she once did. Lynne was immensely proud of her grandchildren.
Lynne lived with an increasingly disabling illness for many years which she faced bravely. Lynne was fortunate to be able to live in the comfort of home until her death with the devoted support of her daughter, Jenine. The family would like to thank Lynne's home care workers, with special thanks to her long-term worker Tess who spent much time with Lynne in these last few years. The family would also like to thank the palliative care team, as well as Dr. Hartley and Dr. Hobson for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life with close family and friends will be held at a later date.
