EARLE ROY HIEBERT
On Thursday, March 23, 2023, Earle Roy Hiebert passed away peacefully to join his wife Joan, daughter Sandra and son Darrell.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Brenda, sons-in-law, Steve and Wray, sister Doris, grandchildren, Jessie, Sara, Ginnie, Robyn and Cory, and great-grandchildren, Dorian, Benjamin, Erik, Reid, Vera, Connor, Mia, Lily, Scarlett, and Beatrix.
Earle was born in Winnipeg on September 6, 1932 and lived a long and vibrant life. He married his lifelong love, Joan Bernice Solomon, on June 26, 1953 with whom he had three beautiful children. Earle was well-known to the citizens of Winnipeg as the distinguished gentleman with the charming smile standing behind the counter of Academy Road Service which he owned and operated for over 40 years.
During his lifetime, Earle was a prominent member of the Winnipeg community who generously provided his time and wisdom to many organizations, including the Kiwanis Clubs and the Blue Bombers. He joined the board of directors of the Winnipeg Football Club in 1966 and remained a director until 1994, when he was elected to the team's Honorary Council. He was also a member of the club's management committee from 1971 to 1980, serving in a variety of capacities, including Vice President of Community Relations (1973), Vice President of Sales and Marketing (1974), President (1976-1977) and President of the CFL's Western Conference (1978-1979).
We will always remember the wonderful holiday dinners lovingly prepared by Joan, the many happy days spent at the family cottage on Lake Winnipeg, and Earle's beaming smile and hearty laugh. He was the classic gentleman, always kind and thoughtful and ready to lend a hand. He will be held forever in our hearts.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful folks at the Tuxedo Villa Care Home who offered their kindness and assistance to both Earle and Joan in their final years.
A private family ceremony for both Earle and Joan will be held in early summer.

My Uncle Earle was a real family man & him & my auntie Joan loved their children and I loved him so much. He was a Man of few words but when he said no it was no. I called them many times & had some really good and funny chats, When they were visittjng here they would always include me and my Auntie Doris, We would go out for dinner and had so much fun. I will always remember that. You may be gone but never forgotten. Love you and will remember you as long as I am alive, God Willing. - Posted by: Carla L Behm (Neice) on: Apr 03, 2023

Sad to hear Earle and Joan are gone, he was a true gentleman! Loved dinners at Hys on Saturday with Sandy, Leo and Carol, and driving his Mercedes occasionally. Used to run into them when we lived at 255 Wellington Cres. RIP - Posted by: Graham Gork (Old friend) on: Apr 01, 2023
