  • I was very sorry to hear of Peters passing (Unfortunately, notification was delayed). I had the pleasure of working with Peter and his partner, Mike, for several years while in the Quality Control unit of MPI. Peter was a wonderful person and I enjoyed his presence both on the job and off. Our deepest condolences go to his family. - Posted by: Chic Seabrook (work associate plus) on: Apr 28, 2023

  • Jodi I send you my heartfelt condolences to your family during this time. I remember many fond memories of our families getting together after ringette and baseball games and sharing in the spirit of sport and friendships that were formed during those years we were growing up. Those friendships played an important role in our lives. Hard to see our parents go, I know you lost your mom some years back, as I lost my dad many years back as well. Thinking of you and your family during this time. All the best, Stacey - Posted by: Stacey Hauser (Family Friend) on: Apr 19, 2023

  • Peter & I were partners in the Quality Control dept. for MPI for many years until he retired. Peter (I called him PIATRO) & I put on many a mile together travelling across Manitoba doing our job for MPI.I could tell a lot of stories of our job experiences, unfortunately, it would take a book or the entire day. I will mention one story that I will never forget, We were up in the Pas, MB. after hrs. Pietro & I wanted to go for a car ride (he liked to drive) & we ended up parked on a plane runway & across the way was docking facilities where pontoon planes were landing, this one particular pontoon plane was loading & loading & loading goods into the plane when someone from the plane noticed us parked on the runway, came over & asked us if we were inspectors & Pietro replied YES (At that time we were still dressed in shirt & tie, Piatro was also issued a brown Dodge Diplomat which looked exactly like a cop car. This fellow after he heard that we were inspectors he returned to the plane & STARTED TO UNLOAD. We think he was trying to pull a fast one by overloading it. We had a good laugh. Pietro you will reach 100 at your final destination. - Posted by: Gerry Wiebe (Partner & Friend) on: Apr 01, 2023

  • Many years ago Peter worked for my Dad. I was a young boy and helped in the shop, Pete taught me two things that I always remember #1 Never short cut quality, Pete could have been called a perfectionist, #2 He told me Don, Never ever quit learning. I still tell our young students and apprentices that message. Thank you for your friendship thru the years. Don and Joyce Sobering - Posted by: don sobering (friend) on: Apr 01, 2023

  • So saddened by Uncle Pete’s passing. Will always remember with fondness the kindness and fun times he gave to me as a young child growing up. I loved the sleepovers with Uncle Pete and Auntie Pat and the many road trips to Dryden with them and my parents and brother. Those days are gone but will never be forgotten. So glad that Toshio and I were able to see him on his last day. Uncle was so proud of you kids, Dwayne, Margaret, and Tanner but especially you Jody for your constant care up to his passing. Our heartfelt condolences to all of you. He will be missed. Love, Toshio, Susan and family - Posted by: Susan Nishi (Niece) on: Apr 01, 2023
