Doreen Audrey Johnson (née Tymchak), of Selkirk, MB, passed away on March 28, 2023, after a brief illness.
Born on October 7, 1945, in Winnipeg, Doreen was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Rose Tymchak, her husband Leonard, her sister Patricia Colbert, and her brothers, Joseph and Raymond. She leaves to grieve her brother Timothy, her eldest daughter Lynn Nicholson, and her daughter Cindy and son Kenneth (Leonora), as well as many nieces and nephews. Doreen was a devoted mother and will be sorely missed. She was also loved and admired by her aunts and uncles, and many cousins with whom she kept contact throughout her life.
Doreen worked with her husband Leonard in a family business in Winnipeg, where they raised their family. Later, she moved to Selkirk where she developed a close circle of friends and acquaintances. Doreen was a person of deep faith, and often spoke of her encounter with God and how her life had been transformed and blessed. She had a sweet sense of humour, was kind and generous, and reached out to others with gestures of thoughtfulness. She will be deeply missed, but leaves a wonderful legacy of love, gentleness and faith that will always be cherished.
At her request no funeral will be held.
