Joseph Rory Bodiou was born on December 29, 1965 at St. Boniface Hospital. He passed away peacefully on April 2, 2023, at the same hospital, with his mother by his side.
Rory was predeceased by his grandmother, Margaret Rheault, his Uncle Don Rheault, and his Auntie Tanya. He is survived by his mother, Diane Rheault, his cousin, Dawn Hildebrand and family, his half-sister Emily (Manny) and family, and close friends who were like family, Monique and Regan, and Mark.
Rory worked hard in kitchens all of his life, starting out as a teenager with Hy's Steak Loft and much later at Canad Inns. He loved music - the louder the better - hanging out with friends, and going out for a nice dinner. He was a very caring and giving person.
Big thank you to the nursing staff at the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital, and to Dr. Asha Kothari for his compassion and care in making sure Rory's last days were as comfortable as possible.
There will be a celebration of Rory's life at the Canad Inns, 1824 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg on April 14, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.

Please accept our sincerest condolences on your loss, Diane. I remember Rory being fun loving, patient, and generous with his time when he was “the new kid on the block” on Parkville Drive. He spent hours trying to teach me how to put a spin on a football when throwing it; my lack of progress did not discourage him at all. We have know Joseph's mother Diane and I have met Joseph (Rory) several times and found him to be a kind, compassionate and considerate person.
