WAYNE EDWARD HAYES
Peacefully on April 5, 2023 with his wife and family by his side. Wayne Hayes (beloved husband of Rita) passed away at the age of 81 at the Selkirk General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Rita of 49 years. His children Fran, Sharon (Klaus), Jeannine (Vince), Lynne, Gerald (Teresa), Lynn, Joanne (Denis), Diane, Patrick (Yvonne), and Brigette (Steve) along with his 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. His sister Diana, brother-in-law Jim, nephew Christopher, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
Special thanks to all the caring staff of Selkirk General Hospital for your loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba in his name.

My condolences to Rita, Aunt Diana and all my cousins in Manitoba. I was surprised to hear of Wayne’s passing, as I was not aware that he was so ill. It has been almost 17 years since I was last able to visit with my favorite uncle. It leaves a hole in my heart. He was such a wonderful man and I will miss him very much. To my "sister" Rita and all your family. We were so sorry to hear about Wayne's passing. We hope that the fun memories of all the car club events and all the lunches at the Half Moon will remind us of what a wonderful man he was. The times at your place where we were treated like family will remain in our memories forever. Here's hoping that if we manage to get to Winnipeg this summer we can take you out to another Half Moon adventure. Thinking of you and holding you tight.
