JAMIE LEWIS (PUCKS) FONTAINE

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, Jamie Fontaine (Mikinak) went ahead to join our ancestors.
Born on September 10, 1974, Jamie was a hunter, a fisher, and a powerful traditional singer. He was funny, charming, always generous, and forever caring. He was our brother, our protector, and our loyal friend. But most importantly, Jamie was a father of four and no matter the struggles he faced in life, he remained deeply devoted to his children, Tipsa, Nootin, Sage and Kesis. Over the years, he also acted as a father figure to many relatives, including his niece Kristyn. Oh, and he was the toughest in three schools when we were kids.
Jamie is also survived by his grandson Michael, siblings, Rhonda, Tracy, EJ (Eva), Larry (Noreen), Lannette (Larry), Monty (Ricky-Ann), Dale (Kim), and Tim (Martha), his aunts and uncles, Joyce, Janet, Terry, Bert, Phil, Kathleen, and Walter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless cousins, including his godfather Jerry. He was predeceased by our parents, Elmer and Jessie Fontaine, our brothers, Dwayne, Fabian, and Todd Berens, as well as our grandparents. In our hearts, we know he's with them.
A wake will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 both at Kateri Tekakwitha Aboriginal Church (265 Flora Ave., Winnipeg). Pallbearers are Monty, Dale, Tim, Stevie, Rylee, River, Ethan and Kian.

Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Spirit Road Funeral Services Inc., PO Box 200, Fort Alexander, Manitoba, R0E 0P0, 204-340-6490 or friends may leave a message of sympathy at spiritroadfs@shaw.ca
