BRIAN GABER
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Gaber at the age of 74. He passed away with his wife and children by his side.
He was the son of late Murray and Dorothy Gaber (nee Yoell). He will be greatly missed by his caring wife Sharon (nee Lomow), his children, Jaime (Mike) and Michael (Brooke), his siblings, Anita Lyons, Cookie Shapera (Earnie) and late Toby Shecter (Harry), his in-laws, Monty Lomow (late Gerry), Norman Lomow (Snookie), grandchildren, Maeve, Callum, Audrey, Emmett, and so many nieces and nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
He will always be remembered as a kind, creative, generous man who loved his family immensely. He cared deeply about the environment and the future of energy conservation for our planet. He loved spending time in his garden and in nature.
A private service was held and altruistically Brian has donated his body to the medical centre for educational and research purposes. Observance will be held at the family home Friday to Sunday (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).
Donations can be made in memory of Brian to Central Speech and Hearing Clinic by phone or mail or online through the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

I had the pleasure of knowing Brian at the City when we were working at the Board of Commissioners. Even though I was just out of university and new to the job, he took the time to chat with me and made me feel welcome. I enjoyed our discussions on energy. A kind and gentle person. - Posted by: Richard I. (ex-colleague) on: May 12, 2023

Hello Sharon. Just got word of Brian's passing from a colleague in Seattle. So sorry for your loss. Brian was hardworking and a good friend, always willing to lend a hand to struggling classmates (like me!) -Ben Rogers P.Eng. Deepest condolences to all the family for your great loss. Many years ago, Brian and I were colleagues at the City, working at the Board of Commissioners. He was a wonderful person -- kindness personified, with true inner grace. He was generous with his knowledge & experience; it was always a pleasure to be in his company. One Purim, I brought homemade hamantashen to the office to share with him, but they were less than stellar, to put it mildly. Brian & I had a good laugh over these failed treats, after which he very kindly sought out a better recipe for me, for which I am grateful every year. I have thought of Brian many times over the years, and will remember him always, with great fondness. - Posted by: Jane Dick (ex-colleague) on: Apr 25, 2023
