It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father, David Hirst, with family by his side, at the age of 77 on April 7, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre.
Dave will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley, of 52 years, son Jeffrey Hirst, and daughter Debra (Derek) Grech. He also leaves brother-in-law Bernie DeLorme, and numerous relatives and friends in England, USA, and Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Rena Hirst and mother-in-law Anne DeLorme.
Shirley, Jeff, and Debi wish to thank everyone sincerely for their sympathy, prayers, love and support.
Thanks to the many doctors, nurses and staff in the ACCU at St. Boniface Hospital and MICU at the Health Sciences Centre.
A service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Donations in Dave’s memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Diabetes Canada.

Dave always made me feel that I belonged at DMC! He told me have faith you will fit in, give it some time. There was a lot of people leaving to go to other companies at that time.
