Christine passed away suddenly from COVID-19 complications on September 13, 2022 in Chapala, Mexico, where she lived in retirement for the past 12 years.
She is survived by her mom Frances, brothers Ray and Don, and sister Lorraine Sawatzky (Ken). She was predeceased by her dad Peter and sister Janet Lagasse.
Christine grew up in East Kildonan and graduated from Miles Mac Collegiate. She worked at Safeway and later moved to Vancouver, where she worked for the BC government. She loved animals, especially cats, and had many as pets. She also loved to travel and visited the UK, New Zealand and Cuba.
A funeral service will be held on Friday May 12 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 315 Munroe Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
