I remember when Albert and I were in our younger years playing with bottle caps from my Uncle Nick's coke machine in his store in Pineridge Manitoba. Rest in Peace Albert. You are now with your parents in Heaven. I would like to share a quote with Albert's family Albert has not died, but gone away to a better place, free of pain and suffering. We will see him again someday. - Posted by: patricia homenick (Acquaintance ) on: May 13, 2023

Albert was a wonderful friend and neighbor. So many great memories of when we were all younger and Friday night get togethers at everyone's place, Sunday afternoon chats and golf ball searching. He will be missed. - Posted by: Petrasko Family (Neighbor) on: May 08, 2023

Albert was 'one of the kids' who grew up in Pinedridge village and kept in touch with the rest of the gang. The Dopheide family has many fond memories of him and his dear mom Helen. Albert devoted much of his life to her, he was an amazing son. As his longtime neighbour, we were always grateful for his watchful eye on the street, his enthusiastic help with mowing acres of lawn, his prowess at croquet, his fandom for the Jets and Bombers (when they were doing well!), his ironic sense of humour, and his sociable and caring personality. We will miss hearing the rumble of his old van coming up our driveway, lawn chair visits under the shade of his trees, and seeing the glow of his lights at night. Just knowing he was always there, a kind and thoughtful neighbour, was a comfort. We'll miss you Albert! - Posted by: Kym Dopheide (neighbour) on: May 07, 2023

I enjoyed many games of golf with Albert at Elmhurst back in the early 70’s. He was a talented golfer indeed. If I’m not mistaken, he held the first round lead at the Manitoba Amateur when he was just 16 years old. Although I haven’t seen Albert in over 50 years, I have very good memories of our time spent together. Thank you for the enjoyable times Albert. - Posted by: Greg Sawatzky (Friend) on: May 06, 2023
