WILLIAM VOIGT
After 79 amazing years, Bill, our partner, father, papa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, left us for his next great adventure in the late evening of Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Bill’s memory will be cherished by his partner of 40 years, Addi, his daughter Laura (Dean) his son Jarret (Zuzana), daughter Carrie; Addi‘s sons, Ryan and Kevin (Kristina) and his 12 grandchildren, Keelee, Kyra, Kennedy, Logan, Evan, Darrian, Dylan, Austin, Jordan, Benjamin, Keziah, and Nevaeh. Bill also leaves to mourn his passing his brother Rick (Trish) Eddie, sisters, Robin (Don) and Irene and many nephews, nieces, extended family members, and dear friends, whom he loved, respected, and cared about very much. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Charlotte and his sister Judith.
Bill was born in Winnipeg to parents William (Bill) and Charlotte Voigt (Alderdice). Bill had a real passion for all sports. He participated in many sports in his younger years - Little League baseball and scoring an eight Ender in curling in 1969-1970 at the Grain Exchange Club, defeating Bill Foster‘s foursome. Golfed many golf courses and his golf clubs could be often found in the trunk of his car in case he met up with a golf course. After moving to Kelowna, British Columbia, Mission Creek was his home golf course for many years. From his family recliner he was the best coach ever and attended most of the sports games his children and grandchildren played in and out of town.
His career started in the produce department at the Polo Park Dominion Store, later, becoming the youngest manager for the Dominion Stores. He moved on to have his own agency in window coverings, which he enjoyed until retirement to Kelowna for the quality of life in 1994. Following his retirement Bill kept busy golfing and dabbling in various jobs in the Okanogan. A neighbour talked him into joining the Wal-Mart family in 2008 as they opened the new superstore centre in West Kelowna. Bill called this his "hobby job". Back in the produce department he was in his element. Bill will be best remembered for his love, of family, trivia skills, and remembering statistics. His family often said Bill was their “Google” when Google wasn’t around. He had a great sense of humour, quick wit, and sarcasm to back it all up.
As per Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held August 27, 2023, at the Westbank Senior Centre, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Death takes the body, my mind has the memories, my heart keeps the love, my faith lets me know we will meet again

Dear Addi and family. Our sincere condolences to you. We were very happy we could get to know both you and Bill via our travel through the Maritimes last fall. We will most remember him for his great sense of humour and the fun times we had working into the wee hours trying to get that Arrive Can application done. ( a bit of sarcasm for you Bill!). Lol So nice to see this loving tribute to him. Keeping you close in our thoughts and Prayers. Charlotte and Don Livingston. - Posted by: Charlotte Livingston (Friend ) on: May 13, 2023
