FREDA WASYLNUK

With deepest sadness we announce the passing of Freda, at 93 years of age, on April 30, 2023, with family by her side.



Freda will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Nelson (Gail), Glenn (MaryAnn), Mitch (Diane), Wes (Kim), daughter Sandra (John), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2019.



Freda was born in Emerson, Manitoba, January 8, 1930, and was the youngest of 14 children. Freda and her family moved to Winnipeg in 1931. As a young woman Freda worked at The Western Glove Factory, where she met her future husband, John. Freda married John in 1951 and they built a life together that lasted over 67 years. She dedicated herself to raising her family which was very important to her. Freda enjoyed reading romance and mystery novels, canning vegetables, and loved preparing foods for church meals and family holiday celebrations. This included perogy making at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church.



Mom's wishes were for a private service at St. Michael's and her final resting place to be at Green Acres.
