ARVELLE DONNA LEA KENDEL

It saddens our hearts to announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, and aunt and dear friend Arvella on May 16, at the age of 86.



Arvella was born on February 5, 1937, to Philip and Molly Kendel. She is predecessed by her parents and her brothers Douglas, and wife Joyce, Derrick and wife Davina. Also her brother in law Norm Honer and nephew Darryl Honer. She is survived by her loving daughter Sandra, sisters Doreen Honer and Peggy Kendel and her brother Philip and wife Margaret. Also her godson Norman Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews and also life long friends Pat and Ellen.



Arvella was a kind and caring person, always willing to help others and look on the bright side of life. She was a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir. She started her career at the age of 16 and worked 41 years at Winnipeg Cold Storage later known as Versa Cold where she was an officer manager. Arvella was also an avid sports fan and was a fantastic bowler who won many trophies that she happily displayed throughout her home.



The family would love to thank the wonderful staff at Concordia hospital for their support and wonderful care they provided to Arvella during her time in hospital.



Arvella will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 708 McCalman Avenue. Interment to follow at Brookside cemetery. If family and friends wish, they may make a donation to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Arvella’s memory.
