KENNETH JOHN CARNEY
In loving memory of Kenneth John Carney, his family announces his passing on May 16, 2023. Ken’s strength, wisdom, and love left a special mark on our hearts. His life was filled with purpose and exemplified humility.
Ken was born in Boissevain, Manitoba on April 7, 1935 to his loving parents, James and Isabel who modeled integrity and a strong work ethic on the farm. Growing up, Ken shared many cherished moments with his siblings, Doug (Mae Belle), Clarence (Joan), and Pat (Cliff). He was a devoted husband to Judy and proud father to Teresa Schurko (Brent) and Dawna Hopkins (Perry). His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, Krista (Chris), Jennifer, Elizabeth (Toban), Sara (Brad), and their children. His lifelong friendship with Bert brought him great joy, and he along with others who knew Ken appreciated their many fun times together, whether it was tennis in Florida, golfing in Arizona, or hunting and fishing throughout Manitoba. Everyone would agree that there was nothing better than an invitation to The Carney’s when Ken was at the bbq.
Throughout his 88 years, Ken instilled the values of hard work, responsibility, and commitment to his family and all fortunate enough to cross his path. As a young man Ken began a career in the heating industry that would eventually lead to the presidency of Great West Heating and Great West Ventilation. Ken fearlessly embraced these challenges well into his seventies with boldness and never shying away from the unknown.
Ken’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all those he touched. Rest in peace, Ken. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or a charity of your choice.
A celebration of Ken’s life will take place at a later date.

Sorry to hear about Ken's passing. I got to know him when I was a young man 40 years ago and he was such an inspiration to me that I used this to become involved in business over those years. If Ken could do it then I could! - Posted by: Rick Turriff (Friend) on: May 22, 2023
