Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHERYL LYNN DUFFY
Cheryl Lynn Duffy, aged 65, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family on May 23, 2023.
She is survived by her husband Gerry of 43 years and her daughters, Alison (Andrew), Meghan (Callum) and Dani (Rob). She will be missed greatly by her beloved grandchildren whom she adored; Campbell (8), Annabell (5), Lily (5), Emilia (3), Maisie (1) and Charlotte (1). She also leaves to mourn her mother Beverley Braun, her siblings, Debbie, Jimmy, Terry and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father James Paul Braun.
Cheryl was an amazing woman who encompassed the true essence of love and family. Her most treasured moments were always spent with her family. Her daughters and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved playing piano, singing and just being silly with them. Cheryl loved to dance; her beautiful smile and love for dancing and performing was contagious. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and having the warmth of family and friends surround her. Cheryl’s wit and humour were unparalleled and evidenced by the numerous poems and "ditties” she wrote. Cheryl will also be missed by her many friends whom she loved dearly. She made friends wherever she went and cherished the connections that were made. Many of these friends were made at the Manitoba Dental Association. Cheryl didn't consider working there to be a job, but rather another one of her passions. The kindness and compassion shown by her work family will not be forgotten. Cheryl’s best friend Debbie May did not leave her side and helped her through some of the toughest moments.
Family, friendships, love and laughter were so important to Cheryl. Cheryl’s light and passion will continue to shine on. Heaven has truly gained an extraordinary Angel.
A service will be held to celebrate the wonderful, albeit much too short, life of Cheryl on June 1, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Manitoba Club (194 Broadway Ave.)

I will always remember Cheryl's sense of humor and the twinkle in her eye when she was making a dry witted joke. One of the best things about her was that she was always involved in whatever her creative and hilarious girls were cooking up. She was a warm, welcoming and incredibly kind woman, she always made me feel like there was a place for me in their home and family. She was truly a beautiful soul with so much to give to others, she will not be forgotten. All our love to the Duffy family. Dear Cheryl It has been about a week since you left us for heaven. I am grateful for the time I spent with you on earth. I will always remember your birthday poems you crafted for everyone's birthday at the office. We all looked forward to reading it with laughter. You will be surely missed by all. As you are now serving the angels and God, whenever Brenda and I are sitting in our backyard and hear our wind chime make that sound of bells we will smile and know that you have given an angel their wings. Till we meet again my friend. Love Rafi - Posted by: Rafi Mohammed (Friend) on: May 31, 2023

Gerry, Ali, Meghan, and Dani, Rene and I are very saddened to hear of Cheryl's passing and send our heartfelt condolences. I fondly remember Cheryl's bubbly personality that always shone through in her beautiful smile, sense of humour, and generous laugh. During family get-togethers when we were kids, it was always Cheryl who organized the cousins, whether it was sing-alongs while she played the piano, or getting us to perform plays for the aunts and uncles. Somehow Cheryl always had the role of Mary for our Christmas play, pulling rank as the oldest cousin! Cheryl's talent for finding humour in any situation and making others laugh was amazing. One time when we attended a dry wedding and we mistakenly drank the tomato juice that was to be used for the toast to the bride, Cheryl immediately opened up several coffee creamers to use as a replacement which left our table in fits of laughter. Heaven has indeed gained an angel...one that will be spreading joy and laughter to everyone! Hugs to you all, Donna and Rene - Posted by: Donna LaFleche (Cousin) on: May 27, 2023

Cheryl was such a creative life force behind Community Living Manitoba when I was there. She and her family were always willing to go the extra mile to make meetings and events special. Her, and Alli's, understanding and support while I was going through the loss of my mother was much appreciated. So sorry to hear of your loss and send my heartfelt condolences to you all at this time. Unfortunately, I will be away for her funeral but she will be in my thoughts and prayers.
