JEREMY PATRICK STARR
With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jeremy Patrick Starr on May 19, 2023, at the age of 49 years.
Jeremy will be missed by his mother Mary Starr (nee Bruyere), son Ethan Starr, sisters, Frieda Wood, Carol (Vern) Guimond, Evelyn (Kirk) Guimond, Maureen Courchene and Amanda Whitesell, niece/godchild Hailey Whitesell, brother Clifton Starr and kinship brother Brian Bruyere, aunts, Sarah Mazerolle, Cecile Boubard (godmother), Gladys (Wesley) Sinclair, Eileen Bruyere and Grace Wozny, uncles, Frank (Nancy) Bruyere, Patrick (Dianne) Bruyere, David Bruyere, Garry Bruyere, Wayne Bruyere, Bradley Bruyere and Tom Starr, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Merry Lee Starr (nee Morrisseau), father Walter Starr, maternal grandparents, Alexander and Evangeline Bruyere, paternal grandparents, Jim and Flora Starr.
Jeremy had serious health issues for the past six years; however he continued on his life’s journey with strength and courage despite the many setbacks he encountered along the way. He had his really good days and also bad days. Always generous, he supported various causes in his home community of Sagkeeng First Nation and also in Winnipeg. Jeremy fought a good fight and now he rests peacefully with all his loved ones that have gone on before him.
Wake services are being held at St. Alexander Parish Hall, Sagkeeng First Nation, MB, May 30 to June 1, 2023. Funeral service will follow in the church on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Interment in St. Alexander Cemetery.
