Peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023, Richard passed away at the age of 83.
Richard leaves behind Penny Clairmont, his life partner and soul mate of 20 years, his family and his friends.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Marcel and May Zébière and his sister Anita Sookermany.
Richard was born in Winnipeg, and in his younger years, moved around to small towns in Manitoba and Saskatchewan with his family.
In 1955 they moved to St. Boniface. In 1956 Richard went to work for his dad who had a big welding shop. From there Richard had various welding and sales jobs. He retired from Bobcat Central where his friends knew him as 'Bobcat'.
He was a big animal lover. His passions were his dogs and birds. His puppies miss him so much.
Cremation has taken place and as per his wish, there will be no service.
If friends or family desire, donations can be made at any animal rescue in his memory.

Met Richard through my 50+ year friendship with Penny. They were an awesome match with each other sharing a very deep appreciation & love of all things animals - especially dogs & birds! He was a gentle giant teddy bear, sharp dressed kind of man with a friendly attitude & a great sense of humour! It was an honour to have met you along the way Richard, you will certainly be missed.
