NORBINA CABRAL
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our family's matriarch and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Norbina Cabral (Raposo), at the age of 98 years old on Friday, May 26, 2023.
Norbina was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Raposo; whom she married on January 22, 1949. She is survived by her three children, Natalia (Fernando); Leontina (Urbano) and Juvenal (Brisida); along with seven-grandchildren, Paulo-Jorge (Criseida), Nancy (Jeff), Sandy (Lyle), Richard (Ana), Christine (Chris), Michael-Anthony, Justin and 13-great-grandchildren.
Norbina, daughter of Maria Dos Anjos and Julio Cabral, was born on January 25, 1925, in Rosario da Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Azores. Norbina immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1981. During her employment, she was highly regarded by those she worked for. Norbina embodied the qualities of honour, dignity and self-respect. We will cherish memories of her vivid story-telling, her never failing wit and humour, which she maintained until her final days and the never ending love and support we always felt from her. We will carry your memory in our hearts forever.
Prayers will be said on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street.
