Evelyn passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in Stonewall, Manitoba, on May 26, 2023, with family at her side.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Donna), Dale (Paulette), Gordon (Laura) and Murray (Emma) Slagerman and their extended families to great-great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husbands, Harry Slagerman and Harvey Buchanan and granddaughter Jennifer.
Evie married Harry in 1951, living on the family farm in Rosser. In 1970 she began work at Sears. After Harry’s sudden passing in 1981 her strong will kept her on the farm and, with the help of her boys, she continued to run the farm.
In July 1999 Evie married Harvey Buchanan and moved to Lion’s Manor in Stonewall.
A fall in February led to admission to hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham and the dedicated healthcare team at the Stonewall Hospital who provided such compassionate care.
Services will be at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave on June 10, at 10:00 a.m., interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South West District Palliative Care or a charity of your choice.

Sending my condolences to the family and friends of Evie. Every once in awhile, you meet someone who stands out from the rest. I believe Evie was one of those special people. I admired how she kept herself looking so beautiful and always had such "spunk" and an amazing attitude and strength about her.
