ELIZABETH (BETTY) LOCKWOOD

(EAST)

March 29,1948 - May 14, 2023

Betty died unexpectedly, May 14, at her home in Canandaigua NY. She was with her dear dogs and the beautiful scenery of upstate New York.

She leaves her beloved family to mourn her passing. She will be missed by her loved and loving stepchildren Andy (Karen), Craig (Jen), Wendy (Dario); adored grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa), Katie (Dan), Taylor, Mitchell, Henry, Giuliana, and Paolo. The family will hold close their memories of celebrations, music and so much laughter. Her brother's children Katie (Shane), Paul (Carol), Sean, Mary (Bill) with their children Zona (Casey), Sam, Ryan, Matthew, Nick, Beth (Steve), Emma, Sarah, and Joe, will always remember their fun loving and enthusiastic Aunt Betty. We will always remember the fun trips to Niagara to see Betty & Grandie/GG. Betty also leaves behind many sadden cousins, aunts and uncles in Australia and Canada; their memories of Betty through her life will be treasured.

Betty was predeceased by her father Ellis (1957), her brother Neil (1984), her beloved husband Dean (2004), her mother Lila (2010) and her sister-in-law Sheila (2018).

Left to remember Betty's creativity, generosity, and sense of humour, are many extended family members, friends, students, caregivers, and casual acquaintances. Her interest in others was boundless and she connected with many people. In fact, anyone who loved dogs, delighted in family, or enjoyed a good story (especially about medicine or politics) was treated to an enjoyable time in Betty's company.

There is no service planned at this time. A family celebration to honour Betty's life will take place when the family is able to gather.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I met Betty at River Heights Junior High School and we became fast friends. Due to boundary restrictions we went to different high schools, and eventually our paths went in different directions. However, I am left with fond memories of Betty and her mother My condolences. Angela Humphrey (nee Hay) - Posted by: Angela Humphrey, nee Hay (School friend) on: Jun 07, 2023
