ANNIE HEESE

(nee SKOBLENIUK)

July 21, 1933 - June 7, 2023

Dear family & friends:

Our Mom/Grandma passed away peacefully June 7, 2023, at the Riverview Health Centre. We are so grateful for their gentle kindness. Also, the compassionate visits she received daily from Home Care and Palliative Care.

Mom was born in Sandilands, MB to Nellie and John Skobleniuk along with her six siblings, Mary, Bill, Paul, Wally, Peter and Pauline. She was raised in St. Agathe, MB by the Nolette family, Eugene and Rose, where she was lovingly named “Little Orphan Annie”

She and Dad met in Snow Lake, MB and after marrying in 1958, went on a six-month honeymoon. They settled in Thompson, MB in 1963 where their two daughters Daphne and Candace were born and raised.

Mom loved teaching grade 2 at Westwood School, was an active CWL member at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and most of all loved caring for her family.

In 1989 her and Dad retired to Osoyoos, BC where they enjoyed 14 wonderful years before their hearts pulled them back to Manitoba.

They have three amazing grandsons, Zack 31, Lucas 28, and Joel 15, and two caring sons-in-law, Peter and Troy. Dad/Opa is still living at Calvary Place where he is well cared for and always excited to see us.

Our hearts are filled with so many happy memories. We miss you Mom, but know you are dancing with Jesus in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be planned later this fall.

For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in Him should not parish but have everlasting life.

-John 3:16
