DENNIS PHILIP ILLCHUK
July 2, 1958 January 13, 2023
It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Philip Illchuk on Friday January 13th, 2023. He leaves to mourn his spouse Sharon Hansen, daughters Aimee Sebastian (Kevin) and Tracy Dumont (David), grandchildren Lachlan, Emerald, Kingston and Taitym. Siblings Jeffrey Illchuk (Laurel), Darlene Johansson (Ken), Peter Illchuk (Janet), Marion Parisien (Tom). Brother-in-law Keith Allen (Grace). Numerous cousins, nephews, nieces also many great nephews and great nieces, Aunty Helen Riha and the Riha & Yeryk families.
Dennis is predeceased by his sister Shirley Allen, and parents Andela and Peter Illchuk.
Dennis was the most kind and gentle man, he was the epitome of simple, uncomplicated living and did not need much in life to be happy and content; the view of nature from his home, the love of his spouse, good company from neighbors, laughter of his grandchildren, the sound of trains, bonfires, nightly TV watching hockey and various sports, especially his Toronto Maple Leafs, strong coffee in the morning and a cold drink at night.
He had worked at Maple Leaf Foods before being diagnosed with COPD in 2017. This gave him the chance to retire and spend the rest of his days in the place he loved tremendously, Carrick, Manitoba.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Volunteer Woodridge Firefighters, Cst. Bunn and the paramedics who performed CPR tirelessly on Dennis that fateful morning. Thank you to Crossings Funeral Care for their care and support.
There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family in Carrick, Manitoba beginning at 2pm on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023 which would have been his 65th Birthday. The Celebration of Life will be held in the clearing of the historic Spurgrave Schoolhouse site. Please bring your fond memories to share in Carrick, MB.

I remember you father as full of smiles and life! He always smiled and always had such a sense of pride of his kids! He radiated joy and happiness! The few times I met him there was never anything but a smile on his face! Our deepest condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: crystal czechmeister (Friend) on: Jul 02, 2023
