Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA ELIZABETH KURTZ
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Sandra Elizabeth Kurtz.
Faithful wife of 61 years to Edward, loving mother to Kerri, Kristine (Mark), Keith (Jennifer), Kathleen (Murray) and adoring grandmother to Shawn, Meagan, Kyle, Samuel, Jory, Katy, Julia, and her feline love, Boots.
She will also be greatly missed by her niece and nephew (Allegra and Rodney Pearce), many friends and extended family.
She was born in Ottawa, met and married Ed there, then moved to Winnipeg to raise their family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Sadie Elizabeth and Joses Dan Pearce, her brother Thomas Hulme Pearce, her mother and father-in-law, Murielle and Ernest Kurtz and brother-in-law Glen Duke.
Mom's faith guided her life. She was devoted to her family, her beloved sisters in Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Blue Bombers.
She loved everything and spent her free time singing (church choir at First Lutheran Church), dancing, watching movies, knitting, painting, reading, baking, gardening, puzzles, exercising, and playing games, especially Scrabble and Bridge.
She lived for special occasions with family and made them "special", starting with love and often ending in a family ping pong tournament!
She believed in donating her time and energy, especially advocating for women, children, animals and the less fortunate.
So in lieu of flowers, please donate to Siloam Mission; Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choosing.
She will live on in her children, her grandchildren, our amazing memories, her Afghans, flowers, gardens and handicrafts, left for us to cherish and enjoy.
She had a bright, welcoming smile, a beautiful, warm laugh, and a soul full of light and goodwill.
She was the best of us!
She was "love in action!"
Forever missed by her adoring husband Ed and "the 4 K's" and families.
"We will hold you in our hearts until we hold you in heaven."
Memorial service will be this Thursday at 11:00 a.m., June 29, 2023, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Road, with a lunch service immediately following. Please join us.

My condolences to Ed and family. I've known Sandra since the '70 thru Beta Sigma Phi. We became friends, sharing many a lunch and even season tickets to MTC. She was indeed a beautiful person, and radiated kindness and Love. I shall miss her, although for various reasons we didn't see each other so often lately.
