VIRGINIA (GINNY) AILENE KIEFLING
Ginny went to live in the glorious light of her Saviour on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in her 90th year.
Mom leaves to cherish her memory, beloved husband of 68 years less a day, Charles, daughter Jody Kiefling Nicholson (Bruce), grandchildren, Kristjana Hale (Richard), Lars Nicholson (Kristin Kuik), great-grandchildren, Aria, Eagan, Jesper, and Teilo Hale, brother Gaylon Estopy of Fayetteville, Arkansas and treasured nieces and nephews in the United States.
Those she has lost and meeting her on the other side are, sisters, Nina (Norman) Wycoff, Rena (Clyde) Schmitt, brother Jerry Allen Estopy, niece Gloria Flemming, preborn great-grandson August Hale and preborn children, Jesse Lane and Eli Michel.
At the age of nine, Ginny, her sisters and Mother moved to St. Louis, Missouri from Paragould, Arkansas starting a new life in the early years of the Second World War. She had a passion for Sunday School and was an enthralling storyteller using Scene-o-felt figures and scenes to tell unforgettable stories. Mom knew at the age of 16 that God had a calling on her life and went to Bible School in Minnesota; after graduation, she began to hold revival services in Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas. During a revival meeting in Illinois, she met Charles, a whirlwind engagement followed; they were married on June 25, 1955 and their only daughter, Jody, was born in 1958. They pastored three congregations over the next 42 years, both sharing in the speaking, and Mom overseeing the Sunday School. She impacted many lives over her 89 years and only heaven will reveal the extent.
One could not know Mom without knowing how much she loved God. She had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, she often said “He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.” Even when in the hospital in earlier years suffering a heart attack, she kept saying “God is so good”. While doing tasks around the house, she could be heard thanking God for His goodness. Of late she has often stated, we’ve had such a good life. While we mourn the loss of a precious wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, we rejoice knowing she is in the Presence of the One she loves so much.
